Presbyopia

Presbyopia is a progressive visual disorder that generally appears after the age of 40. Near vision becomes progressively blurred.

In the majority of cases, a person with presbyopia will have difficulty reading and will tend to stretch out their arms to read.

  • Symptoms: difficulty reading at close range, need for greater lighting and/or visual fatigue.

Presbyopia correction

The laser

Presbyopia laser surgery involves reshaping the cornea to make it multifocal, like a progressive spectacle lens. This correction allows the image of an object to re-form on the retina (point of sharpness).

All laser operations are performed at the Azur Vision Ophthalmology Center.
